In preparation for a big travel summer, I decided it was finally time to invest in a travel watercolor palette. After TONS of research, I settled on the ever popular, Art Toolkit palette. The pallet won me over with it’s unique ability to customize the palette. The inside is magnetic and you can purchase a variety of trays to go inside, large palette trays for colors you use a ton of, mixing trays, tiny trays for rarely used colors – it’s so great!
The palette is ultra light weight, can fit easily in my purse and is SO THIN. This is the issue I’ve had with palettes in the past – they’re so thick and bulky and feel like a lot to pack. This one is so tiny it can fit in my pocket, yet I was able to arrange 23 colors inside mine!
The only challenge was figuring out what those colors would be! I went through several drafts before settling on my 23 colors- a super variety of primaries.

I ordered the Pocket Palette in Black with assorted pans and ordered an additional set of standard pans and mini pans.

The palette pans, once arranged how I wanted them were super easy to fill with my tubes of paint and a toothpick to spread the paint all the way to the edges.
